Care Guide

To make sure your custom Fanatic Era jersey stays looking fresh and vibrant, follow these easy care instructions. With the right care, your personalized piece can last season after season—on and off the field

First, Check the Care Label

Most of our jerseys are made from performance polyester—perfect for movement and breathability. That said, always check the tag first. Some styles have embroidered elements or specialty finishes that deserve a little extra care. As a rule of thumb: cold water is your best friend, and high heat is your jersey’s worst enemy.

Before You Wash

  1. Flip it inside out. This protects printed designs and lets the detergent hit the areas that matter most—like where sweat builds up. If you want bonus protection, toss it in a mesh garment bag.
  2. Go gentle. Use cold water and a gentle cycle to prevent fading or damage to names, numbers, or trim.
  3. Skip the softener. Fabric softeners might feel fancy, but they coat the fabric and trap smells. Not ideal.
  4. Use mild detergent. Heavy-duty soaps can be harsh on prints and performance fabrics. Stick to something gentle and clean.

Busting Odours with Vinegar

Still dealing with funky smells? Try this trick:

  • Add 1 cup of white vinegar to your wash (use the bleach compartment if you have one).

  • Add your regular detergent and run a cold cycle.

Vinegar is a natural deodorizer and won’t leave any strange smells behind. Still got stink? Sprinkle ½ cup of bicarbonate of soda directly onto the jersey in the wash and re-run.

Pre-Treating Stains Like a Pro

Got grass, dirt, or who-knows-what on your jersey? Pre-treat it before tossing it in the wash:

  • Mix 1 cup of white vinegar + 1 cup of water + 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda.

  • Soak the stained area for at least 30 minutes.

  • For stubborn spots, make a paste of vinegar and bicarb, rub it in with a soft toothbrush, and let it sit for an hour before washing.

Air-Dry for the Win

The dryer is tempting, but resist! High heat can shrink fabric and wreck printed details. To keep your jersey in top shape:

  • Hang it to air dry or lay it flat.

  • If you must use a dryer, tumble-dry on low.

  • Never iron over designs. If absolutely necessary, use a cool iron inside-out—away from logos and numbers.

What Not to Do

  • Don’t mix jerseys with lint-heavy fabrics like towels or fleece

  • Don’t dry clean

  • Don’t overload with detergent—it causes residue and traps smells

  • Don’t use bleach unless absolutely necessary—and only non-chlorine

A Clean Jersey = A Happy Jersey

Keep your jersey looking its best and smelling fresh by sticking to these steps. Whether you’re repping at a wedding, party, or just for fun—your Fanatic Era jersey deserves MVP treatment.
